One of the most auspicious days of the year, Gaura Purnima celebrates the appearance in this world of Sri Gauranga, the father of the kirtan movement that has swept the globe, touching the hearts of millions of people. 500 years ago, in the ancient kingdom of Bengal, two great transcendental personalities; Sri Nityananda and Sri Gauranga, appeared and freely spread the chanting of the holy names of the Divine (kirtan) throughout all of India.
