The single most important foundation of all yoga teaching is the understanding that I am an eternal spiritual being. We are not our Mind and Body, these r the vehicles that I am using. I should be exercising control over them and utilising them for my benefits and for a higher purpose to become happy and fulfilled.
The opposite, when I am over influenced by my mind then at the time there is not possibility of this appreciation of who I actually am. So then I begin to act and say things on the basis of a false platform. And I am going to make decisions or do things that are not going to be helpful and not going to deliver me real happiness.
When we experience that I am overwhelmed by emotions then just practicing to pause and taking some time out and doing some mindfulness and/meditation will help us to get back to a state of equilibrium. This will gradually help us to move towards a more stable and happier life.
